American Foundation of Suicide Prevention
The American Foundation of Suicide Prevention has some amazing easy to use and understand resources for starting real conversations about suicide. Check out there easy approach to learning how to stop the stigma here.
NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness)
NAMI’s “Why Care?” campaign provides resources concerning suicide statistics, information about knowing the warning signs of suicide, and information about how to get help for yourself or someone you love. To see their awareness resources click here.
Active Minds
This month Active Minds launched their V-A-R campaign that teaches people how to be a helpful friend when someone they know is experiencing a mental health crisis. The guidelines they give on how to respond to a friend in need are simple and impactful. The slogan for the campaign is, “You don’t need to be an expert to help. You just need to be there.” Check out their campaign here.
Knowledge is good, but knowledge put to use is powerful! Let’s take the time to become knowledgeable about suicide prevention, so we can make the powerful statement of ending suicide!
