(First Blog Post Ever 2018)
My name is Michelle. I am 22 years old, currently living in France as a nanny, and I have no idea what I want to do with my life. I graduated as a criminal justice major at Sam Houston State University, but I will probably never work in the criminal justice field. The only thing I know about relationships is what I’ve learned from Taylor Swift songs, yes, I am a Swiftie, and what I’ve read from my countless romance novels. Can you tell what my two biggest guilty pleasures are? Taylor Swift and Romance Novels.
I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder in elementary school ( I started young), and my second year of college depression was added to that diagnosis. I am a big supporter of breaking the stigma around mental illness, and I love to talk about my experiences with both depression and anxiety. I take medication daily, and I am also a big supporter of therapy.
The only thing I am ever really confident in is Jesus Christ. (If you thought this post wasn’t going to be about Jesus, or at least talk about Jesus, then you are sadly wrong.) The love of Christ is what keeps me going on my worst and best days. He is this worlds loving savior who came humbly to walk beside us. He then took the world’s sins, and died for a people who did not recognize him for who he was. Three days later he rose victorious, and I cannot wait for the day that he comes back to reign in victory.
These past few months the Lord has been working on my heart, and I feel like He has called me to action. The action of writing blog posts once or twice a week. I know that might sound strange. I don’t exactly have a lot of wisdom, as I said I’m 22, but I do feel like God has given me a calling to write about my crazy beautiful life, and share it with all of you. (At least for the time being.)
So, officially consider this my introduction to the world of blogging. I am not quite sure what I am doing, and I think I am just hoping my dyslexia doesn’t get in the way of my typing. Thank you in advance to everyone who will be going on this journey with me, and also a big shout out to my unsuspecting mother who I just appointed as my editor! (Love you Mom!)
In the end though, let all glory and honnor be to God. Here’s to a new adventure!
Michelle
